Frequently Asked Questions

Our Lose the Stabiliser sessions are suitable for children who have no cycling experience; have used a balance bike or can ride with stabilisers.  We tailor the lesson to suit the child’s experience.

If you can, but if you are struggling to do this, we are happy to help.  Just bring the bike into the shop around 15 minutes before the lesson.

All our coaches have a current DBS check in place, and it is safe to leave your child with them for the duration of the lesson.  The coach is unlikely to need help from a parent, but you are very welcome to stay and watch.

Our lessons are 1:1, as we find this the most effective way to teach your child.

We have a risk assessment in place which covers bad weather.  Children can learn to ride in the rain.  The coaches make a judgment if the lessons could be unsafe, and we contact customers as soon as the decision is made.  Sometimes a judgement has to be made at very short notice.

Yes!  We usually run at 100% capacity, so we are very unlikely to have a lesson free if you haven’t booked.

If we get more than 72-hours’ notice, then yes.  But we can’t reschedule or refund lessons with less than 72-hours’ notice.  In the event that we get a last-minute cancellation, we will make every effort to get it rebooked.  If it does get rebooked, then we will offer a new session, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Our lessons are scheduled to start every half-hour during the day.  If you are late, we are unable to make up for missed time, as this will impact on all the subsequent lessons that day.

Yes!  Just pop into the shop before the start of the lesson and we can sort this out for you.

We usually find that young children, e.g. under 6 years old, can struggle with lessons longer than 30 minutes.  It would be best to have lessons on different days.  Children over 6 can generally cope with an hour, so two successive lessons could be booked for them.  Ultimately, you know your child best.

All our coaches are very experienced with nervous children and those who are not neurotypical.  Don’t worry – they will be in safe hands.

All of our coaches are excellent, but if your child wants a particular coach, we can advise when to book.  However, we cannot 100% guarantee the coach of your choice on the day, as even our super-fit and healthy coaches can have days off!

Yes!  Our coaches will tailor the lesson to the needs of the child.  However, you can book one of our skills development lessons instead which are an hour long but also 1:1.

No.  We regularly update our booking site to make sure all available lessons are shown.  We will also advertise last-minute availability on our Facebook page.
